A drop-in Unreal Engine Blueprint system that makes 3DBear's (or your own) horses fully rideable — four gaits, jumping, swimming, combat moves and multiplayer replication. For UE devs building equestrian or open-world gameplay who want mount mechanics without coding them.

The Complete Horse Riding System is an easy-to-use Blueprint framework built for the top marketplace horse assets — Knight Horse, Horse Champion Jumper and Horse Herd (sold separately, not included). It saves development time and gives players a realistic, immersive riding experience with seamless integration and high-quality animations.

Riders are modular Actor Components, so the system drops onto your own characters. Blueprints are grouped, labelled and commented, and network interactions (replication + RPCs) are extensively tested for multiplayer.

It's wonderful having a riding system that works specifically with these horses. The features included are great. I particularly like the horse swimming. It looks quite realistic. Getting horse reins to look good has been plaguing my current project and I will be using the rein setup from this project as an example to work from. Overall, I really like it. I think it's a great riding system appealing to equestrians.

How to add a rideable horse in Unreal Engine 5

    Install the Riding System

    Add the Complete Horse Riding System to your Unreal Engine 5.0–5.7 project and make sure Enhanced Input is enabled (only UE 5.0 needs it switched on manually).

    Add a horse

    Use the included demo horse, or attach one of 3DBear's horses (Knight Horse, Horse Champion Jumper, Horse Herd or The Viking Horse) — or your own model — to the provided skeleton.

    Attach the rider component

    Riders are modular Actor Components, so drop the rider component onto your character to gain mount, dismount and control logic without writing code.

  4. 4

    Configure gaits and controls

    Wire up the four gaits (walk, trot, canter, gallop), jumping, swimming and combat moves through the grouped, commented Blueprints, and test replication if you're building multiplayer.

Is the Complete Horse Riding System multiplayer-ready?

Yes. It is network replicated, using replication and RPCs that have been extensively tested for performance in multiplayer.

Which Unreal Engine versions are supported?
